There were goals aplenty at Emerald Park on Saturday as Lowestoft Town ran out 4-3 winners over Gorleston as the Trawlerboys won the Sailor Brown Memorial Trophy.

The Blues were 2-0 up within 10 minutes as trialist Matt Brown bagged two goals thanks to some fine approach play on both occasions by Ben Fowkes.

Gorleston responded well though and were level by the 20th minute thanks to goals from Ross Gilfedder and Jackson Ramm.

Gilfedder struck again on the stroke of half-time with a 25-yard free-kick to give the Greens the lead at the break.

Jamie Godbold's side were level within a minute of the restart thanks to Cole Overy's side-footed finish and the away side got what turned out to be the winner in the 56th minute thanks to Fowkes' composed finish.

Dereham Town continued their preparations for the new season with a 1-0 win over Braintree Town in the Colin Wright Memorial Trophy contest.

A total of £415 was raised for the Big C Cancer Charity in memory of Mr Wright, who served the Magpies as a committee member for many years and also helped set up the club's youth side.

Swaffham Town travelled to UCL side Raunds Town for their latest friendly and came away with a 5-1 victory.

Kyle Plumb opened the scoring in the 14th minute, meeting an Alex Vincent corner at the near post to score. Nick Castellan made it two on the half hour after some superb build up play as Vincent played in Luis Duarte, who crossed for Castellan to thump the ball home from 10 yards.

Vincent turned goalscorer 10 minutes into the second half, heading home on the back post from five yards and with 15 minutes to go, Ryan Pearson got on the scoresheet, converting from 12 yards, leaving the keeper no chance.

Raunds clawed one back with five minutes to go thanks to a lobbed finish over keeper Tommy Rix but Swaffham had the final say when Vincent slotted home to put the lid on a convincing win.

Thetford cruised to a 5-0 win over Old Newton.
