Suspender buzzers, daddies and hoppers have all been working well whereas in the waves this week the old favourite damsel nymphs, yellow dancers and cats whiskers have been taking most fish. Liz Townsend, on her first time with a fly, caught two lovely trout on Thursday evening and seems hooked on fly fishing. Blackdyke will be holding another coaching season on the May 29 with Tim Gaunt Baker, ring to book your place.
Larkwood Trout Fishery 01284 728612: Last week saw plenty of bigger fish coming out, the biggest was a cracking fish of 10lb 12oz caught by Alan Baker. The rod average is still fairly high at 4� fish per angler. Best flies have been hawthorn flies, small black dries and damsels. Both lakes are very clear.
South Elmham Trout Fishery: Has also seen some big fish come out over the past week. John Clark took a 10lb rainbow, Dave Graham took three fish for 16lb, a Mr Bradbeer took a 5lb brownie, plus there were several other fish at or near the 5lb mark. There are still places available for the open day, ring for details.
