Our speedway podcast has a new offspring and it's called the 'Mini Pod'.

Home Straight – brought to you by the Eastern Daily Press and hosted by one of their sports reporters Gavin Caney – is a fortnightly offering for fans of the high-drama two-wheel motorsport.

But instead of having a week without the show, the panel have decided to produce a much shorter version of their offering which you can listen to now.

Caney and his high-profile co-hosts Olly Allen and Simon Stead discuss the life of a rider, the 'speedway family' and touch on a few parts they couldn't squeeze in to their latest full-size show.

Recently retired rider Allen is the manager of the BSPA-backed national Poultec Speedway Training Programme and lifelong friend of Sheffield Tigers captain, Team GB international and guest Sky Sports pundit Stead.
