Gary Setchell is urging his King's Lynn Town players to make sure they're not victims of an FA Cup upset this afternoon.

The in-form Linnets - who have won their opening two games in Evo-Stick Division One South - return to Wellingborough Town just months after facing them in the United Counties League last season.

And after gaining promotion to Step Four of the non-league ladder, Setchell concedes his side will be expected to win their preliminary round clash this afternoon.

The Lynn boss said: 'It's a fact. There will be a shock in the FA Cup today, plain and simple. There is one in every round.

'Someone from a lower level will beat higher league opposition. We just need to make sure we aren't the ones left with egg on our faces. We need to approach the game in exactly the same way we have done our last two league games.

'We need to take the game to them and make sure we do our jobs on the day.'

Lynn will once again be without Stuart Wall (knee) as he prepares to spend nine to 10 months on the sidelines. Lithuanian keeper Jonas Sarycevas is still awaiting international clearance while captain Richard Bunting is a slight doubt with a dead leg.

With Brigg Town visiting The Walks on Monday, Setchell is likely to make one or two changes to the side that won 3-1 at Hucknall Town on Tuesday.

'You can look at is as being disrespectful to Wellingborough that we're going to make a few changes,' said Setchell.

'But you can also say it's disrespectful to the player I'm going to bring in. They're more than good enough to compete at Step Four as I feel we've got 17 first-team players who can do a job at any given moment.

'We're got two games in three days and I need to be sensible. Football's a funny game though. Had we lost our first two games this would be the biggest match I've had as Lynn manager.

'But we've won two and all of a sudden we're promotion candidates. We go there full of confidence so we can have no excuses if it doesn't go well.'

Wellingborough - who have lost both of their opening league matches - beat March Town United 2-1 in the extra preliminary round.

Lynn won their four games against the Doughboys during their two-year stay in the UCL and will pick up 1,750 prize money if they triumph again at the Dog & Duck.

The winners will travel to either Step Five Godmanchester Rovers or Step Four Daventry Town in the next round on September 8.
