A late rush of points saw North Walsham Raiders beat Holt seconds 15-5 on Saturday.
This was an incredibly tight game between two evenly matched sides, so much so that with an hour gone it was still scoreless.
Both sides missed with penalties in the first half and Walsham came closest to taking the lead just before half-time when they crossed the Holt line but were unable to ground the ball. Walsham should have gone ahead but two penalty attempts went begging.
As the game entered the final quarter Walsham scrum-half Dean Blyth harried his opposite number into a mistake and claimed a try. Left wing Chad Seeley made a break down the flank before putting centre Nick Austin in for Walsham's second and five minutes later Blyth crossed again for the Raiders' third. In the final minute Holt got the points they deserved when Jason Child crashed over.
With Diss' first team without a game – like North Walsham – the Saracens had a match against Shelford II, with Diss coming out winners 30-25. Diss' three tries were scored by Tim Groom, Fraser Hall and Todd Wishart, with Tom Harrison converting all three. Harrison also kicked three penalties, giving Diss a win against opposition two leagues above them.
