Jack Lang can take a well-deserved summer break from competing in the Radical Challenge series comfortable in the knowledge that his next event is on home soil.

The Thetford racer leads the title race at the halfway point after a pair of race victories at the Rockingham Speedway in Corby with the series resuming in late August on his local circuit of Snetterton.

'I made a good start to the first race and pulled a small gap before Oliver (Barker) caught me and got past. Fortunately for me he broke down and I went on to win,' said Lang of his second victory of the season.

The Gorse Motors racer made another great start to race two, this time with Bradley Smith in his mirrors. But, despite race-long pressure, Lang held his nerve to record his third victory of the season.

'We made some changes to the car which helped me hold Bradley off in the fast stuff which he couldn't make up to offer a challenge,' said a jubilant Lang post-race.

The third race was a 40-minute mini enduro with Lang taking an early lead from the start, but quickly unseated by Barker.

This left Lang to head a pack squabbling for second, but with an additional five-second success time penalty at the pit stop he dropped to third, which became fourth when Barker charged past once more.

'I made a poor choice in only using one new front tyre which made the car very hard to drive but settled for a fourth place finish,' added Lang, who heaped praise on his team for providing him with a great car for the weekend.

Kenninghall racer Thomas Randle made an immediate impression upon the Formula Renault Eurocup field with the newcomer securing a fourth place starting slot for the opening race at the Hungaroring. Sadly his debut didn't last long as an early clash with Gabriel Aubry, who went on to win the race, put him on the sidelines.

Randle started from grid 13 in race two and, despite pushing as hard as possible, finished in the same position. The local racer started race three from eighth on the grid and finished in 10th place, to claim his first championship point, and end his first weekend in the series slightly frustrated.
