King's Lynn Town rounded off a good week with a five-star display at The Walks.

Having seen off Hereford in dramatic fashion on Tuesday, the Linnets turned on the style against their hapless visitors.

The goals were shared around five different players, with Craig Parker and Ryan Hawkins putting Lynn in the driving seat at half-time, before

Ryan Fryatt, Tom Siddons and Eoin McQuaid, with his first senior strike, completed the rout.

The writing was on the wall inside the opening minutes as Lynn's Cameron King left full-back Ty Ward for dead, but saw his cross headed wide at the far post by Frazer Blake-Tracey.

Norman's charges down the right flank were a feature throughout: he almost set up Hawkins before Fryatt headed a Michael Clunan corner across goal rather than towards the target.

Norman then teed up Hawkins again, but the 23-year-old got the ball caught in his feet. Michael Gash headed narrowly wide and was then denied by the first of several fine saves by visiting keeper Will Hall.

Lynn were in almost complete control, but their patience was rewarded on 36 minutes when a Clunan corner fell nicely for Parker, who had three attempts at goal from close range – one was stopped by the keeper, the second hit the post before the third nestled in the back of the net.

Three minutes later Lynn doubled their lead, Parker turning provider with a superb through ball to Gash who was again denied by the advancing keeper. The ball headed goalwards but Gash couldn't quite get it over the line before it fell for Hawkins to do the honours from close range.

Keeper Hall saved superbly from Blake-Tracy's header in time added on, but by then the game was up for the visitors.

Lynn keeper Alex Street was called into action for the first time early in the second half when he saved full length to deny Ward, but normal service was quickly resumed as Fryatt rose highest to head in Clunan's corner on 51 minutes.

Parker teed up Tuesday's goal hero Toby Hilliard from eight yards, but Hall pulled out another top-drawer save. McQuaid shot just wide but on 63 minutes it was 4-0 when Simon Lappin's corner from the left was met by Dion Frary. His header came off the bar, but Siddons lashed the ball home from 10 yards.

A great break between subs Siddons and Hilliard ended with Hilliard hitting the woodwork, before the third sub, McQuaid, completed the scoring on 77 minutes – his shot looped over the keeper after an attempted block, came off the bar and just about crossed the line, despite Hall's best efforts.

It was Lynn's biggest league win at The Walks this season and leaves them three points ahead of Weymouth, who take over second spot after Kettering were beaten 4-3 at Royston. Weymouth won 3-0 at Merthyr while third-placed Hereford were 4-2 winners at Farnborough.
