King’s Lynn trainer is hoping for derby success at Yarmouth Stadium

This year's final features a very rare situation where two trainers have two runners each in the final.

Paul Young, attached to Romford, has Bubbly Turbo and Bubbly Bluebird competing to win the £15,000 prize on offer whilst King's Lynn-based trainer Kevin Boon also has two, kennel-mates Knockard Spring and racing fans' favourite Murrys Act.

The race itself is full of stories, with trainer Charlie Lister targeting the big prize, aiming for his 12th East Anglian Greyhound Derby title if Newinn Shadow goes on to take the victory.

Another class act amongst the line-up is Hiya Butt, this year's Peterborough Derby Winner and English Derby finalist for the last two years. He must have a serious case for winning the final from trap two.

The last time he was in this box in a trial he recorded a lightning split time of 5.25 and this could see him lead up the field and kick on clear.

On his inside is Bubbly Turbo, who will be looking to go one better than last year when he made the final, coming runner-up to Clondoty Alex.

Drawn in red again, connections will be hoping a better break than in last year's final would see him bring home gold.

Kennel-mate Bubbly Bluebird, multiple big open race winner, will be hoping he has his trapping boots on for this final. If he does he will take some beating on the night.

Murrys Act, this year's English Derby finalist and Coral Champion Stakes winner, has caught the eyes of racing spectators on more than one occasion so far in his derby campaign.

Most noticeably in the first round he clocked a breath-taking 27.27 run, winning by a very impressive margin.

This run was 10 spots off the current track record at the stadium and the third fastest time ever at the track over the standard distance.

Kennel-mate, the improving Knockard Spring, will be hoping to ping just as he did so competently in his first round battle with Marians Dream.

This would ensure he had a realistic chance of taking the win.
