King's Lynn Town are looking to give manager Ian Culverhouse the perfect send-off.

The Linnets take on Weymouth in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier play-off semi-finals at The Walks tomorrow evening and midfielder Ryan Jarvis wants the former Norwich City coach to pursue a fresh challenge with a promotion on his CV.

Culverhouse recently revealed his plans to leave The Walks at the end of the season and Jarvis thinks the 53-year-old deserves success for work he has put in since joining club in February 2017.

'The gaffer has been brilliant - he has set the standards from the off,' said Jarvis, who has been superb in a holding midfield role for Lynn this season. 'From day one when he first got us in during pre-season he told us what he expected.

'He has been excellent - his attention to detail is first class and it will be unbelievable if we can send him off with a promotion. I think he deserves it. Our objective was always to get into the play-offs so we have achieved that and perhaps we can feel a bit unlucky not to go up automatically after getting 100 points.'

Securing second place behind Hereford has at least ensured Lynn will enjoy home advantage tomorrow evening and on Bank Holiday Monday in the final should they see off Weymouth.

But the Dorset side will be out to spoil the party and will be heartened by the fact they haven't been beaten by the Linnets this season.

'Apart from us I think they are strongest team in the play-offs,' said Jarvis, whose side lost 3-1 to Weymouth back in October before drawing 1-1 at The Walks in January. 'But we've shown what we can do - pressure can do funny things but we believe we are the best team and we've got to show that. We know we can beat any of the teams in the play-offs and that we are the best footballing team in the league.'

It's all set up to be quite the night at The Walks and Jarvis, who joined Lynn from Lowestoft Town in the summer, hopes the fans can play their part.

'It's going to be awesome – it would be great if our fans could create a bit of an electric atmosphere. Our fans have been brilliant home and away and if Weymouth bring a few fans as well I think the atmosphere could be really special.'
