Gary Setchell has thrown his hat in the ring as the race to sign John Sands hots up.

The Boston United hitman looks set to be on the move again this summer after spending the end of the season on loan at King's Lynn Town. The scrap to land Sands is likely to be fierce but the Linnets boss insists he won't be backing down in his bid to secure the highly-rated striker's signature.

'There'll be a host of clubs trying to sign him, no doubt,' admits Setchell.

'We won't have the most money for him, as simple as that. But he's really enjoyed his time at King's Lynn. I've got a good relationship with him, he's had a taste of what Lynn can offer, and he's quite popular in the dressing room. Hopefully that'll stand us in good stead when other teams are offering bigger money. I'll be giving everything I can give him to sign him. We've just got to hope that can count for something.'

Sands' brace in Lynn's season-ending 2-1 win over Stratford Town on Saturday took his tally to six goals in 10 appearances.
