King's Lynn Town host Frickley Athletic this evening in their first home game of the new Evo-Stik Premier Division season.

The Linnets go into the fixture on a massive high after securing a stunning 3-2 comeback victory at Ramsbottom United on the opening day thanks to George Thomson's last-minute free-kick.

So Gary Setchell will be keen for his men to extend their feel-good factor when they welcome a side to The Walks who only remained in the Northern Premier League thanks to a relegation reprieve last term.

Setchell said: 'We managed to claw a win with great guts, determination and a bit of good play in the final third on Saturday.

'We've got a group of hard-working players. We stick together. We try and play football the right way. And when the chips are down we're never dead. So what do you want from a football team? What more do you want?

'If we were in the UCL with this team I'd expect us to win every single week. But we're in the Northern Premier League. There's a lot of good footballers and a lot of good teams. We had a massive away win at the weekend and I'm really proud of the players.'

Lynn's triumph was made even more remarkable considering the fact key men Dan Quigley, Jake Jones and new recruit Sam Brooks missed the kick-off due to traffic congestion on the M6. Setchell's troops also quickly found themselves 2-0 down but powered back into the game thanks to defender Ryan Fryatt's brace.

The Walks outfit are likely to name an almost identical squad this evening for the home clash against a side they beat 3-0 on their own turf in March.

Setchell also told his club's official YouTube channel: 'Saturday was a stepping stone. If we'd have taken a point, with two home games to come, it would have been positive. But we managed to nick a win.

'You don't know what Frickley will be like this year. Just because they finished low last season they might be different now. They've got one of the best strikers in the league in Gavin Allot for sure. He'll need looking after. Every game is tough.

'If we're not at it we'll get beat tonight. But if we play like we did second half at Ramsbottom we've got a chance of winning.'

Frickley drew 1-1 with Rushall Olympic on Saturday despite playing the last 40 minutes with 10 men.
