It's King's Lynn Town's turn to play catch-up on Saturday afternoon - but the logjam at the top end of the table comes as no surprise to boss Ian Culverhouse.

The Linnets have surrendered top spot to Hereford United, almost inevitably given the Bulls' quality and likelihood to win games in hand brought on by cup runs.

The gap is four points, with Lynn having played two games more – and dropping valuable home points in a draw against Banbury a week ago.

They head to Tiverton knowing if they slip up, Weymouth and Kettering are waiting to pounce.

'Everything is incredibly close in the league at the moment,' said Culverhouse. 'It's been like that for all of the season and I'm sure that's how it will remain for here on in.

'But it's all about us at the end of the day and if we keep picking up points both home and away we will remain in the mix.

'I have a great set of lads who give their all, week in, week out for me and this club. As I said last weekend, we are batting well above our average in my opinion against some real big hitters in this division. I am proud of their efforts to date as our supporters should be as well.'

Tiverton are ninth, but have outside play-off hopes of their own – although they took a knock in midweek when they lost 3-0 at home to Kettering.

'They are a decent outfit, but then that applies to a few teams in this league,' added Culverhouse, whose team beat Tiverton 2-0 back in September thanks to goals from Craig Parker and Ryan Hawkins. 'They were really in the mix a few weeks ago, but for whatever reason they have fallen away a little just of late.

'I'm sure though that (manager) Martyn Rogers will be telling them that they can still make the play-offs with a good run.

'They will be desperate to put Tuesday evening's defeat behind them and they will be dangerous of course.

'We didn't take our chances last weekend against Banbury and it cost us a couple of points, although the point we gained could prove to be vital come April.'

Culverhouse should have defenders Ryan Fryatt (ankle) and Tom Ward (shoulder) available, although Cameron King is still a few weeks away from a return.
