A five-game losing streak hasn't knocked the stuffing out of Gary Setchell ahead of King's Lynn Town's home clash this afternoon.

The Lynn boss remains upbeat despite enduring one of the worst runs of luck, on and off the pitch, since the club reformed in the summer of 2010. And he is certainly refusing to get downbeat ahead of relegation-threatened Frickley Athletic's visit to The Walks.

Setchell said: 'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger doesn't it?

'We had a little team meeting on Wednesday which was a bit light-hearted. We know we've run our race this season but there's 21 points to play for. I still think we deserve to finish in the top 10 but it's all about where we are after 46 games, and not 39. The players know their responsibilities. They're not on the beach just yet.

'We'll be trying out one or two things, some might work, some might not, but I'd rather do it now so that if they don't work I won't try them again on the first game of next season. That said, we still want to win as many games as we can. What we are doing will stand us in good stead for next season.'

The Linnets sit 10th following back-to-back promotions. Although their recent run of form has been disappointing they are enjoying a far superior term to that of today's opponents.

Athletic have recorded just three league victories on the road this term and are one point from safety. But they drew 2-2 with Town in the reverse fixture so will fancy their chances of returning home with a positive result. With a host of players unavailable in Lynn's depleted squad, including defenders Ryan Fryatt and Jason Lee, midfielder Dan Quigley could deputise at centre-back once more.

Lynn's boss said: 'One of the things I'm going to try this season is Quigz at centre-half, I need to have a look at him there again. His performance and maturity against FC United was outstanding. Although we're in a little bit of a sticky time there have been some positives.

'Shaun Stocker has got good minutes into himself over the past few weeks which will do his development the world of good and Chris Ward (been on loan at Dereham) is back. There's still lots of positives to be had, which of course as a manager I'll be focusing on.'
