King's Lynn joint boss Kevin Boon admitted on Thursday the Linnets' early pre-season plans have been blighted by injury.

Jamie Thurlbourne has been advised to rest a hip injury picked up in the first game at Burton Park whilst Jack Defty and Ross Watson both missed training this week. Trialist Jordan Young has also visited hospital in the past few days for X-rays on an ankle problem.

'JT got a knock, didn't think anything of it at the time but it has got progressively worse,' said Boon, ahead of Lynn's opening home friendly against Wroxham on Saturday. 'Jamie is hopeful he can get back to training next week but we don't want to bring him back too soon. We hope it isn't anything more than bruising. Ross Watson has got tendinitis in his knee which we are monitoring and Jordan Young has gone to hospital for an X-ray on his ankle.

'Jack Defty didn't train Tuesday night because of a sore knee and we hope that isn't anything serious and Callum Reed is away on holiday so we'll have four or five first teamers possibly missing, but it gives us a chance to look at the fringe players, people like Gino Livotti, and to see if these youngsters can step up.'
