Stars chief Jonathan Chapman is urging King's Lynn's riders to bring the feel-good factor back to the Norfolk Arena by upsetting in-form Swindon Robins tonight.

Alun Rossiter's outfit arrive at Saddlebow Road in third place, having secured a fine losing point at Poole last week after taking the Elite League title favourites to a last-heat decider.

In contrast, Rob Lyon's Stars go into this evening's meetings in seventh place having had two fixtures postponed since their home defeat to high-flying Lakeside Hammers.

Co-promoter Chapman admits Lynn are underdogs but believes a surprise victory could kick-start the Stars' fight for a play-off place.

Chapman said: 'It'll be a tough meeting but if we can go into it with all guns blazing and win it will make others sit up and look at us.

'I think Poole, Swindon and Lakeside are nailed on to be in the top three which leaves the rest of us fighting it out for fourth, the last play-off place. Eastbourne look in a strong position right now but they've had a lot of home meetings.

'But them, us, Peterborough and Birmingham are scrapping it out and a win would put us in good stead and really boost our confidence. There's no major pressure on us because Swindon have been going so well and everyone expects them to come here and win. However, a victory will bring the feel-good factor back. It would also put us in a good position within the four or five teams that are scrapping it out. There's plenty of exciting times ahead.'

Lynn go into the meeting, which will be televised on Sky Sports, making one change from their side that lost to Lakeside. David Howe replaces Joe Screen as he completes his near two month recovery from a dislocated shoulder.

Daniel Nermark should be full of confidence having surprisingly won the Swedish championship last week while Chapman admits ex-Robins, Mads Korneliussen and Maciej Janowski, will be desperate to put one over their former side.

The Robins, who beat Lynn 50-43 at their Abbey Stadium earlier this season, feature Troy Batchelor in their side – a former Lynn rider who was involved in a crash with Kozza Smith in January that ruled the latter out of the Stars season before it began.

Gates open at 6.30pm with the parade getting underway at 7.30pm. Fans will receive a free programme on entry (while stocks last).
