King’s Lynn open their Premiership campaign on Wednesday night with Belle Vue the visitors to the Adrian Flux Arena (7.30pm).
A series of rain-offs mean it’s a delayed start to the season for the Tru Plant Stars, but the side are raring to go with an exciting year ahead.
Captain Robert Lambert returns to King’s Lynn for a sixth successive season while Lewis Rose is back for a fifth stint in Norfolk.
Thomas Jorgensen has been handed another opportunity after impressing in 2017 with fans’ favourite Lewis Kerr also making a comeback following two seasons away.
Four-time World Cup winner Niels-Kristian Iversen will be hoping to lead by example on his return to number one while fellow Dane Kasper Andersen makes his debut in Britain.
The Stars are completed by Australian Ty Proctor who is keen to make an impression after three years out of the top flight.
It promises to be an entertaining night against a strong Belle Vue side, and with a trip to Swindon on Thursday to come, team manager Dale Allitt is looking to get off to a positive start.
“These are a big couple of nights for us and if we could take a minimum of four points from Wednesday’s meeting with Belle Vue and Thursday at Swindon, then that really would give us something to build on going forward,” he said.
“We know it will be tough though and we’re anticipating a highly entertaining opener against the Aces at home.
“Belle Vue may have had some early injury problems but they’re still a very solid outfit with some very capable performers.
“We’ll need to be at the top of our game right from the off and hopefully it won’t take our boys too long to get dialled in.”
Belle Vue include British Grand Prix racer Craig Cook, wonderkid Dan Bewley as well as former World Under-21 champion Max Fricke.
