King's Lynn Stars' Robert Lambert suffered more British Under-21 final heartbreak at Sheffield last night.
For the second year running, the Foulsham-based talent performed superbly through the qualifying races to reach the shoot-out for glory.
However, despite winning all of his opening five rides, Lambert was beaten when it mattered by Josh Bates - who had scored four points less in the heats - leaving the Norfolk star to finish runner-up for the second year in a row.
Young Stars rider Nathan Greaves reached the semi-final while Josh Bailey scored three points.
