Team-mates Robert Lambert and Lewis Kerr have moved one step closer to landing a senior Great Britain debut.
The King's Lynn Stars' duo have been named in Alun Rossiter's provisional 10-man squad ahead of his side's 'semi-final' against Australia, USA and Latvia on Monday, June 8. And hopes are high that one, or both, will be selected with the meeting taking place at their Elite League outfit's home track.
'Rosco' will name five riders, which will include a reserve, for the Adrian Flux Arena showcase and knows it would be Lambert and Kerr's World Cup bow if they made the cut. Both have risen to prominence over the last 15 months with the latter being included in last year's set up before missing out.
However, this is the first time that 17-year-old Lambert has been selected – no surprise given he had only been riding in the top flight for about a month when the British boss revealed his hand ahead of the 2014 competition.
GB squad: Tai Woffinden (captain), Craig Cook, Chris Harris, Kyle Howarth, Lewis Kerr, Danny King, Robert Lambert, Richard Lawson, Kyle Newman and Richie Worrrall.
