King's Lynn Stars ace Maciej Janowski will make his senior world championship debut next month after being handed a wild card for the Speedway Grand Prix in Torun.
The world under-21 champion will don the famous number 16 race jacket for the final round of the 2012 GP series in his home country of Poland.
The Stars racer, who finished third in his outfit's supporters' club rider of the year poll behind countryman Mateusz Szczepaniak and winner Niels-Kristian Iversen, will make his debut on speedway's biggest stage at the Marian Rose Motoarena on October 6.
The news will come as an end-of-season boost for Stars management, fans and riders who had been bemused by the fact that high-flying number one Iversen was overlooked for the role twice when meetings were held in his native Denmark.
