Rob Lyon is warning King's Lynn's opponents that the Stars will continue to improve as they prepare to extend their unbeaten opening to the term at Wolverhampton tonight.
The Norfolk Arena club have picked up six points out of a possible seven having beaten Lakeside Hammers at home and Coventry Bees on the road on Friday. And their team boss is confident better is yet to come even though his side have made an impressive start to the 2014 Elite League campaign.
Lyon said: 'Friday was the perfect tonic. I feel the team is a slow burner and we can get better. If we stay clear of any major problems we will get better and better as the season goes on. I think you saw with Kenneth (Bjerre) having a bad one by his own high standards, we still came away with a six-point win.
'Credit to young Robert (Lambert) and Lewis Kerr turning it around for us in heat 14, it was fantastic. Niels (Kristian Iversen) was once again superb after his first race, Rory (Schlein) had a great night as did Nicklas (Porsing). Like I said, a great night but Kenny is down in the dumps, he had a bad one, but he'll bounce back – he's too good a rider not to do that.'
Lynn's unbeaten record will face a stern test tonight against a Wolves side that have also won their opening two meetings – and track world champion Tai Woffinden as their number one. The Monmore Green outfit qualified for the play-offs last year before an injury-affected side crashed out in the semi-finals to fierce rivals Birmingham Brummies. This term they have already beaten Leicester Lions and the Brummies.

Wolves chief Chris Van Straaten said: 'There are strong rumours that some King's Lynn fans might actually leave Norfolk and come to Wolverhampton to see their team. That rarely happens. We don't see many King's Lynn fans travelling to Wolverhampton traditionally, but who knows what a win at Coventry can do, it would be nice if the rumours are true and they actually come out of Norfolk for once.'
