King’s Lynn team boss Dale Allitt was delighted with a “massive result” at Belle Vue last night.

The Stars roared to a 47-43 win at the National Speedway Stadium thanks to a solid all-round display.

The visitors took control early on and despite a stirring fightback from their hosts found an extra gear, with big guns Niels-Kristian Iversen and Robert Lambert producing the goods when it mattered.

Allitt said: “It’s a massive result. We gave away another 5-1 in the first race but came back strong and gained momentum as the meeting went on.

“We seemed to have done that all season. This side simply doesn’t know when to give in, they kept fighting and I’m really happy with that. We’ve only lost by a few away from home so far this season and this is a big win.”

Lewis Kerr and Ty Proctor won early races to give the visitors a lead before a huge win in heat five. Iversen and Michael Palm Toft, who were out of touch in the opening race, both passed Jason Garrity to increase the lead to 21-15. Brady Kurtz and Dan Bewley immediately reduced the deficit to four points over Lambert in the next and that’s how it stayed until heat nine. That saw a further blow for the home side as Garrity crashed out of the meeting following a first bend accident.

In heat 10 the home side got themselves right back in it with a 5-1 from Kurtz and Bewley but once again the Stars went back in front thanks to a classy maximum from Iversen and Palm Toft,

The killer blow came in a heat 13 classic. Iversen roared clear but found himself under intense pressure from Kurtz, with Lambert steaming under Josh Grajczonek into third.

Then the British Under-21 champ set his sights on Kurtz, blasting under him and then swapping positions twice before finally making it stick on the last lap.

The Stars were in total control at 43-35, with the same pair sealing with a 3-3 in the final race.

King’s Lynn: Iversen 11+1, Lambert 9+3, Palm Toft 8+1, Proctor 7+1, Kerr 6+1, Jorgensen 4, Andersen 2+1.

Belle Vue: Tungate 13, Bewley 9+2, Kurtz 9+1, Grajczonek 6, Etheridge 3+1, Drozdz 2+1, Garrity 1.
