The aftermath of heavy rain made track details tricky to say the least when the National Banger season finally opened at King's Lynn, with track staff working wonders to get the shale track in order.

The 1500cc Bangers were staging their 2017 National Championship with Thetford's Tony Pallett defending his title and putting in a good drive for third, unable to catch National Points champion Lee White (Saffron Walden).

The 2L Bangers were staging a Wild Card World Qualifier where the winner of the final would get a direct passport and White was again uncatchable.

The Predators were out in force in this one and their entry included the National Banger debut of 16-year-old Brad Bowman (Lynn) who put in a fantastic performance and qualified for the World Final as the one of the top entertainers of the day.

Completing the action where the Junior Bangers were Birmingham's Joey Holmes took heat and final honours.
