Twenty anglers competed in the Angling Trust National Championships 2011 Pike Qualifier match at Swanton Morley Fishery on Sunday.

Only 11 of them landed a catch with 17 pike caught, providing a total weight of 42lb 14oz.

The biggest fish for much of the match was Alan Lock's 4lb 5oz catch but it was beaten in the last half hour by a 5lb 11oz specimen caught by junior angler George Shipley.

Smallest fish on the day was Lee Searls' 11oz jack.

The next qualifier at Swanton Morley will be on Sunday, November 28. Booking is essential. Contact David on 01362 637591.
