The iconic green and gold colours of JP McManus took Easter Monday's £10,000 David Keith Memorial Chase at Fakenham.

Join The Clan, trained by Jonjo O'Neill and ridden by Aidan Coleman, finished a clear winner in an eventful three-mile contest. Returned at 9/4, the winner out-jumped his four rivals.

'We've learned nothing. He has jumped well and nothing else has. But that's the name of the game, that's what you have to do,' said Coleman, recording his 117th win of the season.

But the riding honours belonged to Gavin Sheehan on Ardmayle. The horse clattered five fences yet Sheehan held on to keep the partnership intact.

Jockey Alan Johns and trainer Tim Vaughan grabbed a double after taking the Cecil and Sheila Buttifant Hurdle in thrilling style on 2/1 favourite Glimpse of Gold.

Caprice D'Anglais set the pace but as he faded it was left for Glimpse of Gold, and outsider Bulletproof to fight it out.

After the last hurdle, Bulletproof nosed in front but Johns got the favourite back up to score by a neck.

The opening selling hurdle was a tame affair with 11/10 favourite Ballyrock never headed as he ran out a 17-length winner under Johns, the first leg of that subsequent 5/1 double which made the anticipated six-hour return journey to Wales more bearable.

Phare Island, who usually finds at least one rival too strong, scored when Max Kendrick got the 12-year-old home in the Sworders Hurdle, returned 9/2 winner for trainer Ben Case, just holding off Amron Kali.

There will be no luckier winner than 7/4 chance Pride of Parish in the Robert Hoare Hunter Chase.

Ali Stirling led on Are They Your Own and pulled away from the field. However, Fakenham's final fence curse struck and a hefty fall left Pride of Parish, under Joe Hill for his father, trainer Alan, to score by 19 lengths.

The second hunter chase, a four-runner affair, proved an all the way success for Sam Davies-Thomas on Thetford trainer David Kemp's Master Workman, returned at 10/3.

The finale, a National Hunt flat race, was won by the ultra impressive Sunshade, owned by The Queen, trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden by Jeremiah McGrath, returned the 5/2 winner, and holding off fellow debutant Rose Tree.
