Nine-year-old Eleanor won the Brineton Mountain & Moorland First Ridden and went on to take the Ridden M&M championship, stand second in the Cradle Stakes Workers and win the Beginners' Workers on the grey Colby Starglow, who has already secured both Royal International and Horse of the Year show tickets.

Sister Fiona, 17, in her first year out of ponies, came third with Lord Leonardo in the hunter class, just being pipped by mother Katrina, who stood second on My Special Something and went on to take the Reserve Hunter Championship.

Fiona and Lord Leonardo came back to win the The Ponies (UK) Hazelden Rosettes Open Working Hunter and stand champion of this section.

The Rosettes Direct Leading Rein Pony class was won by Georgia Beckett on Dykebeck Wild Daisy, a pony bred by Georgia's grandmother Suzy Cranston, owner of the renowned eventer Cornerman, the ride of Pippa Funnell.

Jo Masterson, 20, from Filby, near Yarmouth, startedn by taking second place in the Sue Carson Saddles/Alruba Rubber British Novice Championship on Black Monday, bred by neighbour Sue Smith.

Renowned for her versatile, the mare is also enjoying the event circuit.

Stablemate Fairy Story secured the Novice Working Hunter, and later the Reserve Worker Championship, ahead of Mosstown Hussar, ridden by Martin Harrison for Brian and Wendy King.

Harrison also partnered the same owners' homebred five-year-old mare Melford Gwen to win the Whittaker's Lord Hunter class and go on to stand champion.

Youngest winner at the show, held at Great Witchingham's Blackwater Farm, was one-year-old Suki Wales.

She came first in the My Thelwell Friend section on her pony Fudge.

There were 775 entries in nine rings for the show's 89 classes.
