Jack Friend scored his first goals for King's Lynn Town as they won 3-1 at Barton Rovers last night to make progress in the Southern League Red Insure Cup.
The on-loan Peterborough United youngster opened the scoring for a youthful Lynn side after 16 minutes in their League Cup clash, only for Jordan Davies to equalise midway through the second half. The game looked to be heading into extra-time until Friend scored his second on 86 minutes and a Lee Stevenson goal settled it.
An excellent night's walk for The Walks club was completed when a much-changed reserve side triumphed 3-2 at higher-level Swaffham Town in the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup.
