Nearly 70 visitors enjoyed Norfolk & Suffolk Flyfishers' open day at East Tuddenham.
Converted carp fisherman Simon Collins from Carlton Colville put his new tackle – bought at an auction – to good use, taking his limit bag with children Aiden, 5, and Isla, 4, assisting with the net while Babs Craig from Thetford used the knowledge gained from 'Try the Fly' sessions to bag hers on a bloodworm pattern from the top lake. Lynn Wee banked her ticket limit too, only to return on Monday to do the same again from the right hand side of the bottom lake. At Rocklands, the arrival of some more autumnal weather has seen the fishing improve no end. Martin Smith landed 11 rainbows and a brownie on damsels and Chris Smith also banked 11 rainbows in a short afternoon session using a variety of damsels and buzzers. Barry Tierney and Jimmy Sayer landed five apiece on CDCs, PTNs and F Fly patterns. The continued overcast and cooler weather will almost certainly see fish actively feeding and expect evening rises and dry fly patterns to prevail.
