The NLCGA County Girls' Championship was held at Bawburgh Golf Club with 13 girls taking part and a further three playing for the McHarg Birdie Trophy.
This year's Championship winner was scratch golfer Amy Taylor, playing on her home turf, who shot a gross 75, closely followed by runner-up Jasmine Campbell, also on 75 but losing out on countback.
The handicap salver was also won by a Bawburgh junior as Emma Bambridge scored a fantastic net 67 (90-23-67) to clinch the top prize from the Neild sisters. Eve Neild was second with a net 71 (87-16-71) closely followed by older sister Hope on net 75 (84-9-75).
In the Birdie Trophy, Nellie Ong from Eaton played a fine game, winning with 38 points off a 31 handicap followed by Emily Reynolds from Fakenham on 34 points. Rebecca Chesterman from Hunstanton came third.
The nearest the pin prizes were won by Dereham's Immy Leeder and Eaton's Nellie Ong. The competition was also played as part of the Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship. Amy Taylor took the best gross prize and Chloe Gibbs from Royal Norwich the U14 prize.
Bawburgh also hosted the Norfolk Ladies County Golf Association Division Three competition.
Despite adverse weather conditions, most players finished the 18 holes.
Leading the way and winning the Joy Boult Cup was Phillipa Bond with 41 points, with Sandie Hammond (37) ahead of Fran Bradley on countback. Bridget Andrews was fourth on countback with 35 points in an event dominated by Bawburgh players.
The Division Three Team Shield went to Phillipa Bond and Bridget Andrews with a total combined score of 76 points.
There was a big turnout at Eaton Golf Club for Captain's Day with 142 men playing a qualifying Stableford competition for the Captain's Cup and 28 ladies playing in a Texas Scramble. ith the course in excellent condition, but some tricky pin positions, scoring was not easy. However, winner Neil Harrison, playing off four, scored 41 points from a birdie and 16 pars – a noteworthy result as it was only his second competitive round after a four-month lay off following injury.
