The record-making men's second team from Pelicans Hockey Club completed their season with another victory.

Already crowned champions of Division Four North-East, the team were determined to keep their unbeaten season in place and succeeded by beating Felixstowe II 6-4 with Ashleigh Corbett smashing a hat-trick.

The triumph was the culmination of a fantastic season for the team who played 22 matches, winning 21, with their only blemish being a draw against Bury St Edmunds. Pelicans finished the season 18 points ahead of their nearest rivals Lowestoft Railway. They also managed a goal difference of 100 after scoring an incredible 134 goals.

In fact, that amount was the most scored by any of the more than 300 teams in the whole East League set-up. Credit must go to outgoing captain Ben Human who led his troops superbly over the course of the season. Next term he will hand over the reigns to Stuart Olley (AGM permitting) who is hoping to continue the former skipper's success with back-to-back promotions.
