Defending champions Acle A opened the the Norfolk CIBA County Bowls League with an impressive win at home to Gallow A by 100 shots to 57. Winning on all four rinks, George Tubby's rink led the way with a 31-12 score.

Norfolk BC A won at home to Lakeside A by 96 shots to 73, Wayne Willgress' rink winning 31-17, while County Arts A won away at Wymondham A by 83 shots to 70, Brian Taylor's rink winning 27-16.

Promoted Pentney A lost their opening game at home to Lynnsport A by 85 shots to 64, with the Lynnsport rink skipped by Stephen Winter winning 27-11.

In Division Two, Pinewood Park A opened their season with a win at home to Shotford A by 101 shots to 56, Duncan Toyn's rink winning 28-8. Browston A won at home to Acle B by 87 shots to 69, Pat Morris' rink winning for the home team 28-12. Diss A, who were relegated from Division One last season, had an opening day win away at County Arts B by 107 shots to 78, with their rink skipped by captain Roger Barnbrook winning 40-14.

Dereham A won at home to Pinewood Park B in Division Three by 82 shots to 68, the home rink skipped by Julian Cooke winning 30-14. The two teams relegated from Division Two met, with Roundwood A winning away at Lakeside B by 92 shots to 61, their rink skipped by John Spinks winning 27-7.

In Division Four, Gallow B beat Browston B at home by 85 shots to 74, Stan Sole's rink winning for them 27-15, whilst Diss B won at home to Wymondham B by 79 shots to 73, their rink skipped by M Rich winning 21-14.
