Anne and 'Ella' have been together for eight years and this was probably their biggest success to date.

“I am normally so nervous and tend to hold Ella back, but today I was really relaxed and we both went for it,” said Anne.

Ella, who is by Hearnesbrook Fastnet, a pure bred Connemara, out of Jamie a part TB mare, also competes in long distance and pleasure rides.

The final event of the season is the Novice One-Day Event , on Saturday September 8, at Horse Shoe Farm, open to all.

Middle Harling Riding School, at East Harling - formerly Middle Farm Equestrian - re-opened its doors under new owner Pru Kenyon.

The rain managed to stay off long enough and the owners were delighted with the number of people coming to book, old and new.

Building upon its previous reputation, Middle Harling Riding School offers excellent indoor and outdoor facilities and also has access to some wonderful hacks.

Pony-mad children will be pleased to know that the school will very shortly become a pony club centre, offering not just riding but a whole range of equestrian care and fun.

The school is also home to Bucklesham House RDA group and is dedicated to their Wednesday evenings and Friday mornings.

This weekend they are taking Tula to yet another event. Anybody wishing to know more about the RDA or who wants to volunteer should contact them on 0845 2414304 or via the riding school.

Other activities are planned for the school summer holidays, including “Own a Pony Day”. Plans are also afoot for Equestrian First Aid courses and Mother's Hour. Full details of all these are available by contacting Middle Harling Riding School on 01953 718756. A few spaces are still left in some group lessons and Saturday Club.
