Norwich City youngster Ian Henderson has admitted he is in the dark over where he will be playing his football next season.

The 21-year-old academy product, who is currently on loan at Rotherham United, is out of contract with the Canaries in the summer and is still uncertain whether he has a future at Carrow Road.

Henderson has been on loan at Rotherham since January to get first team football but has failed to find the net in 16 appearances for Mark Robins' side.

The striker admitted that first team football is vital for his development at this stage of his career and said he would be “keeping his options open” from now until the end of the season.

Asked where he expects to be playing next season, Henderson said: “I'm not sure at the moment. The bottom line is that I want to play football but I want to keep my options open and we'll have to wait and see.

“Obviously I would like to stay at Norwich but I've also had a great time here with Rotherham.”

Henderson will be speaking to Norwich in the near future to clarify his future although he admitted that he has not spoken to manager Peter Grant much since his temporary move to Yorkshire.

“I've haven't spoken to him (Grant) a great deal to be honest. He's got a job to do at Norwich and I've got one to do at Rotherham. I've spoken to him a couple of times and he's given me his thoughts.

“I certainly feel like I have improved as a player since I came here. I have found a position just behind the striker that seems to suit my game and something that I can build on in the future.

“The Rotherham boys have been brilliant since I've been here and they've all worked really hard to try and pull us away from the relegation zone.”

Unfortunately, it has been a relegation battle that Rotherham have lost and the Millers will be playing in League Two next season after starting the season with a 10 point deduction as punishment for falling into administration.

Rossi Jarvis has also been on loan at Millmoor and has been earning rave reviews from the locals for his no-nonsense style of play at the heart of the midfield.

It is understood that Robins is looking into the possibility of taking Jarvis on loan for next season and will discussing the Fakenham youngster's future with Norwich.

Rotherham will not be able to afford to buy Jarvis but another loan deal could suit both parties if Grant does not see Jarvis in his first team plans next season.
