Newmarket 26, Wymondham 29: Wymondham recorded their first win of the season and claimed the bonus point for scoring four tries.

Despite having to make enforced late changes, Wymondham made a bright start, going ahead when a long run from Alex Brugger ended with him delivering a scoring pass to flanker Chris Brown who had done exceptionally well to keep up with the flying winger.

At half-time, having conceded two tries and slotted two penalties through James Wyatt, Wymondham found themselves trailing 12-11, and the scores continued to remain extremely close in the second half as every time Wymondham scored they let the opposition bounce back and score.

Following excellent handling from captain Pena Sokia and Soul Phoenix, Steven Sims made it two tries in two weeks when he finished off a flowing move while Tom Wilson crossed the line after Sokia had collected a wayward kick from the Newmarket defence and made a typical surging run.

Entering the last ten minutes with Newmarket leading, young scrum-half Harry Anderson-Brown made a sniping blind side run to score in the corner to inch his team ahead –this time for keeps after enduring a heart-stopping series of five-metre scrums in front of their posts.
