Harleston Magpies went nap in their East League Premier A fixture against Letchworth but still only picked up a point for their efforts after a 5-5 draw.

Magpies twice built up a two-goal lead and were 4-2 up at the break, with Ben Wright converting a couple of penalty flicks.

Archie Winter marked his return to the side following a period of absence due to school commitments with a goal while skipper Leigh Sitch placed a clean strike into the bottom-right corner to complete an eventful opening period.

After the break the visitors got it back to 4-4 before Winter restored Magpies' advantage with seven minutes to go but Letchworth converted a late penalty stroke to earn a draw.

Dereham's poor run continued as they went down 3-1 at fellow strugglers Saffron Walden, who joined them on 12 points as a result. A lacklustre second-half display by a weakened Dereham team meant another defeat on the road.

The visitors started brightly, with good work up front from Will Dewing and Will Edwards, and went into break ahead after Edwards smartly dribbled round the keeper.

But Walden fought back in the second half and exploited a number of mistakes to score three times. Young defender Seb Hinchcliffe kept fighting to the final whistle despite the scoreline.

Norwich City lost 5-3 at Ipswich and East Suffolk in the Premier B section, but remain second, six points behind leaders City of Peterborough II, who also lost. Jeremy Elliott, Chris Wardale and Nick Jones got the goals for City, with Rob Duffy being named player of the match.

City's seconds also tasted defeat, going down 3-2 at home to Upminister in Division One, with Pete Morgan and Tom Hindle getting what turned out to be consolation goals. Magpies' seconds won 3-1 at Cambridge City III in the same section.

Norwich Dragons retained the joint lead of Division Two North with Sudbury when they hammered visitors Cambridge City IV 6-2. Man-of-the-match Sam Avery led the way with a well taken brace while Ben Watson, Mitch Smith, Rupert Snelling and Henry Laming were also on target.

Dragons II beat Bury St Edmunds II 3-1 (Raunaq Rai, Charlie Nunn, Alex Browne).
