Harleston Magpies have a national finals day to look forward after their mixed team recorded an emphatic away win at the weekend.

Magpies made the long journey to Horsham to compete in the quarter-finals of the Mixed Cup and won the game 7-1 to book their place at Lee Valley on the weekend of June 3 and 4.

The visitors never looked back after Simon Hipwell raced through to give them an early lead, The same player quickly made it two and Magpies added another goal before the break when Lucy Whiting deflected the ball home.

Magpies started the second half with the same attacking intent and, although Horsham managed to reduce the arrears, the goals continued to flow. Tim Whiteman played a quick one-two with Hipwell before deftly lobbing the keeper and National League player-of-the-season Maria Andrews made it 5-1 before Laura Tibbenham and Robbie Kinsella completed the scoring.
