Harleston Magpies Ladies travelled to Cambridge to begin their indoor season with East Championships games against other National League sides.
They recorded two impressive victories and one unfortunate loss. They beat St Albans 6-1 with Emma Lee-Smith in fine form at short corners, converting four. Sarah Brook and Lucy Miller also scored.
Magpies also put six goals past Chelmsford with Brook getting a hat-trick while Charlie Harrison (two) and Emma were also on the scoresheet. In the crucial match against Sevenoaks, Magpies had enough chances to have won comfortably but two penalty misses and a number of goalline clearances by Sevenoaks resulted in a 3-2 defeat. Magpies' scorers were Brooks and Bryony Lund.
Other Magpies players involved were Debbie Francis (captain), Trina Warnes (vice-captain), Hannah Palmer, Lauren Barber, Megan Adams (goalkeeper) and Louisa Greenacre.
