Grant confirms interest in Fitz Hall
Norwich City boss Peter Grant has confirmed his interest in taking Wigan defender Fitz Hall on loan.
Norwich City boss Peter Grant has confirmed his interest in taking Wigan defender Fitz Hall on loan.
Hall has been linked with moves to Norwich, Hull, Coventry and Ipswich since Titus Bramble joined the line-up at the JJB Stadium in the summer.
"We are always interested in good players and Fitz Hall is a good player," Grant told the club's official website, www.canaries.co.uk.
"But it's not as simple as people think. A lot of clubs are interested in players and 90 per cent of the time you find yourself near enough having to pay a transfer fee as a loan fee. And a loan player from the Premiership would cost Premiership wages. But Fitz Hall is a good player and he's one that we've looked at."
Grant added that he would not make panic moves for players after defender Jason Shackell suffered an ankle injury and Ian Murray was hit by illness.
"We want a group of people that will be competition for each other," he said. "As has been shown by Shacks getting injured, we are not strong enough in that position. But the important thing is that I will not bring people in just for the sake of it.

"I'm looking to bring people in to take us to another level and we have got to try and do that. The thing is, because they are quality players, other people are looking at them as well. It's something we've got to learn to live with.
