The Norfolk Senior Cup will take centre stage under the lights at Emerald park tonight as rivals Gorleston and Great Yarmouth Town battle it out for a spot in the next round of the competition.

The game has been hotly anticipated since the draw was made last week and a strong crowd is expected to turn out for the derby.

Gorleston come into the game rejuvenated by a battling win at the weekend against Newmarket Town and the addition of former player Connor Ingram who has rejoined the club from Lowestoft Town.

The striker will come straight into the squad for tonight’s clash.

Gorleston manager, Stewart Larter, is relishing the opportunity which presents itself tonight in front of a home crowd.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to the game and both clubs should be complemented on being flexible to moving it to a Friday night.

“It gives us both a chance to have a good run and with the carrot of a Carrow Road appearance makes it very attractive.”

The Bloaters on the other hand head into the match off the back of successive defeats to Framlingham Town and Norwich United. They find themselves bottom of the Thurlow Nunn League with just six points.

The visitors will also be without Ben Lewis and Chaz Mcara.

Great Yarmouth Town’s joint manager, Adam Mason, has admitted he is feeling the pressure ahead of tonight’s clash.

He said: “I’m a bit nervous because we just need to get a result. It doesn’t matter how we get it we just need to find a way of getting something.

“Hopefully there will be a strong crowd and I hope the Yarmouth fans turn out in numbers with it being a local derby and on a Friday night.”

Kick off is at 7:45pm.
