After his recent success at the Snetterton round of the British Superbikes meeting where he secured two podium finishes, Gorleston 16-year-old Charlie King heads south this weekend for more of the same at Brands Hatch on the Grand Prix circuit.

King has already been on the podium at Brands earlier this year and is knocking on the door for his first outright win in the Triumph Triples Challenge.

With the forecast for good weather, plus the way he has been riding this year, there is no reason to doubt King could end up on the top step this weekend.

Unfortunately two of Norfolk's other top riders will miss the action as Norwich's Team Tinklers duo of Sprowston's Jake Newstead (broken collarbone) and Stoke Holy Cross' Richie Leech (broken hand) recover from Snetterton spills. Both are expected to be fit for the next round in three weeks' time.

The god news is Marham's RAF Reserves Racing should see Simon Andrews competing in the National Superstocks for the Norfolk outfit.
