Four goals from Ross Gilfedder helped lift the Greens up to seventh in the league on Tuesday evening.

There were two changes from Saturday's game, with Kyle Ingram and David Shade out and Sean Perfect and Ismael Fatadjo given starts.

The game couldn't have started any better for Gorleston. With five minutes on the clock Gilfedder latched on to a clearance and nicely tucked the ball away from the edge of the box.

A minute later it was two. Fatadjo got through into the left side of the box and as keeper Tom Coombe raced from his line he dinked the ball over him to Gilfedder who stooped to nod in.

To make matters worse for Walsham, Coombe had caught his foot in the turf and went down awkwardly, resulting in him needing to be replaced after lengthy treatment. Outfield player Andrew Cusack took over in goal.

Walsham rallied and George Bugg turned makeshift centre-half Peter Lambert to get a shot in but it was straight at Scott Foreman. Meanwhile, stand-in keeper Cusack was keeping his side in the game, making excellent stops from Aarron Taylor and Joel Watts.

Six minutes before the break Willows pulled a goal back when they worked the ball well through to Ryan Clark who hit a good finish past Foreman.

After the break a cheeky back heel by Watts sent Jack Garrod into the box. He was brought down by Jordan Southgate and a penalty was awarded. Gilfedder took over the spot-kick responsibility and duly planted the ball past Cusack to make it 3-1.

Midway through the half Gorleston virtually sealed the points. Fatadjo's cross from the right was punched clear by Cusack but only as far as Garrod on the edge of the box who took a touch and fired home.

One of the biggest cheers of the night came soon after with the return, after a year away, of Keegan Middleton who replaced Fatadjo and he was involved in the fifth goal in the 79th minute. He laid the ball off to Watts who picked out Gilfedder and he made no mistake for his fourth of the game, and his 21st in 22 appearances.

There was hardly time to take a breath before a Walsham player was fouled in the box and Jack Brame converted the penalty to complete the scoring.
