Last Friday saw the first of the regular supporters' forums held at Lynnsport.

It was pleasing to see a good turnout which probably just about beat some of the turnouts we have seen at similar events held at the ground. I had a very good idea that several of the questions would be financially based and it came as no surprise to me that the subject took up the time it did and stirred the passions of both the top table and the floor. Lynn supporters have been on a huge emotional roller coaster over the past months and it is correct that they should feel comfortable with anyone who is put at the helm of the good ship Lynn.

Most of the questions were asked in a sensible and well thought out manner however I can understand the Chapman family becoming upset when the word 'suspicious' was used by one supporter as to their motives as to taking on the football club. A model of their effort and commitment to a cause is the Norfolk Arena stadium in Saddlebow Road. A stadium that had seen better days best describes the old speedway site but now it bears no resemblance to that sorry sight with a structure made mainly of concrete and steel standing in its place.

My intention when I left home last Friday was to go along and just take up a watching brief so the microphone and host job came as a surprise but it was one which I felt anyway went okay. Overall I reckon the whole evening was a success. Yes, at times heated but, hey, that's what a meeting like that is often about.

Afterwards I took some time to have a chat with a few of you and most were pleased at what they had heard. Some will need more convincing which is fine. You will never please everybody all of the time and no doubt other decisions that have to be made will be unpopular with some. All I ask is the same as I did on Friday evening - give these people a chance. Some have judged far too quickly which is not a good thing.

I have always been a person to give anyone a chance - regardless of previous history or what I have been told. I get on fine with some people who others may hate - it also works the other way round. What we do have now are people who are passionate about what they do running our club. Mistakes will be made - of course they will, but it really is time now to get on with the job in hand and get this club rolling down the long road back to where we once belonged.

Have a good week.

Take care Mark
