As part of the ongoing Girls Golf Rocks programme in Norfolk events were held at Dereham and Searles Golf Clubs.

A total of 23 girls aged between the ages of five and 15, who were all new to golf, were given the opportunity to experience playing and having fun on the course.

For many, this was their first time playing on a course and a variety of formats were used, designed to be suitable for each girl's age and ability.

The Norfolk Ladies' County Golf Association organised the events with support from England Golf and the Golf Foundation. Carol Delf, NLCGA Junior organiser, said: 'The events have been a brilliant success and it's been a great opportunity for the girls to get out onto the course and meet some new friends, whilst playing alongside and being supported by our GGR Ambassadors.'

The next Girls Golf Rocks events will take place at Marriott Sprowston Manor on August 2 and at Norwich Family Golf Centre on August 24. For more details see www.getintogolf.org/girls-golf-rocks
