Gimingham move closer to retaining title

Despite dropping two points at home to Ludham, Gimingham moved closer to retaining the Slater and Frith Division One title albeit they were held to a 3-3 draw as their nearest challengers Coltishall suffered two defeats.

Firstly a midweek home defeat by Ludham then a brace from Horning's Ricky Mileham inflicted a second defeat inside four days on Coltishall and virtually gifted the trophy to Gimingham.

Hickling recorded their first league win since the opening day of the season netting six times away at Briston, with goals from Matthew Bone (3), Dairo Flores (2) and Adam Mayhew, with the home side netting three themselves. Aldborough Lions recorded a solid 3-0 home win over Runton and East Ruston were 6-2 home winners over Corpusty.

At the top in the Wayford Nurseries Division Two, Worstead and Haisboro Athletic met midweek with their game ending all square, a result that favours Haisboro who, level on points at the top, still have two games in hand. Both sides won their weekend games, Haisboro 4-1 at Holt 'A', Worstead 5-3 at Lyng. Aylsham 'A' ran out easy 7-1 winners at home to Corpusty Reserves.

With a Paul Massingham hat-trick and Matthew Burrell goal, Blakeney clinched promotion from the Knight Trophies Division Three beating Glaven Valley 4-1, Sutton Rangers and Mundesley Reserves shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

On Easter Monday Morning the league's first final takes place at Greens Road North Walsham (kick-off 10.30am) when Coltishall and Ludham will contest the Smallburgh Crown Division One League Cup Final
