Best flies have been dries, snail patterns, all have been working well over the past week. From June 28 Tim Gaunt-Baker will be offering midweek evening tuition for two hours from 6.30pm. Larkwood trout fishery (01284 728612): The rod average has remained steady at four fish per angler over the last week. Regular Fred Freeman took the honours at Larkwood with a fish of 10lbs 6ozs. Damsels, CDCs and emergers have all scored well during the course of the week. West Stow lake has picked up a little colour while Glebe lake is still gin clear.

Willow trout fishery (01986 785392). It's been a good week at Willow, with fish rising throughout the day and all anglers taking. Best flies have been buzzers, damsels and sedges. Buzzers have been best during the day and sedges best fished late afternoon and early evening and for something different damsels fished deeper.

Rocklands mere (07900 004953): The best sport is still to be found in the evenings or early mornings. Norman Brown and his son Geoff took a crash course on Saturday with a morning's tuition and an afternoon's fishing. Geoff managed to catch two rainbows and Norman one, their first ever trout. Both were using dry flies and fishing the far end of the lake. Rocklands' Chris Efstratiou also fished on the Saturday and ended up with nine fish. All were taken on dries, ranging from black hoppers to small CDC buzzers. The rod average is 4.1 fish per angler.

South Elmham trout fishery (07500 703389): Plenty of fish to 5lbs are being taken and also several good-sized brown troutn. Both lakes are clear. Best flies have been damsels, buzzers and hares ears. Last week saw hatches of dragon flies and damsels. The rod average is 2.5 fish per three-fish limit.

Narborough trout lakes (01760 338005): It's been a good week with clear water and plenty of top-of-the-water sport. Ashford is fishing extremely well, producing some of the best surface fishing for along time. Damsels, emergers and sedges have all worked very well over the past week.
