King's Lynn Town will keep battling for a play-off spot while it's still mathematically possible to land one.

The back-to-back promoted Linnets are seen by many as outsiders to finish in the top five having played a handful of games more than many of their rivals. They visit one of those clubs, Ashton United, this afternoon and even though Gary Setchell concedes the numbers are stacked up against his side, he is sure they will keep fighting for as long as they can.

Lynn's boss said: 'Our next few games are key. We're playing the sides that are currently sixth (FC United), seventh (Ashton) and eighth (Blyth).

'If we win all three games we will be right in amongst it. If we lose all three we'll probably be out of it. We were all disappointed at drawing against Trafford on Saturday but we bounced back at Droylsden on Tuesday.

'Our slow start to the season probably handicapped us a bit but we want to keep the season alive as long as we can. If we get to the last four matches and we have to win them all to stand a chance, then that's what we're going to have to do. Things can change very quickly in this league.

'There's still about 1,000 minutes of football to be played between now and the end of the league season and a lot can happen between now and then. So we'll definitely keep fighting while we have a chance.'

Lynn currently occupy the final play-off berth in the Evo-Stik (Northern League) Premier Division table. However, they have played more matches than each of the six sides directly below them.

FC United and ninth-placed Rushall Olympic have a huge four games in hand on Setchell's side.
