King's Lynn Town boss Gary Setchell hopes Ryan Fryatt's knee injury isn't as serious as first feared.

The young Lynn defender was taken off during Tuesday's shock 3-2 Norfolk Senior Cup semi-final defeat at Wroxham. He will find out the true extent of the problem at hospital tomorrow and Setchell admits he is praying the damage isn't too extensive.

Lynn's boss said: 'We don't know the seriousness of it yet. Ryan went up to the hospital yesterday but we won't know more until he goes back to the hospital to get the full assesment.

'We all just hope, and have our fingers crossed, that it won't be his cruciate ligament. That would be devastating news for the club and the lad. There were some positive signs yesterday but until he gets his diagnosis we won't know for certain. It's definitely fingers crossed.'

The 20-year-old, contracted until the end of next season, has made 29 appearances this term. He definitely looks set to be out for a couple of weeks – during a period in which he is likely to be suspended anyway after picking up his second red card of the campaign at Ashton on Saturday.

Fryatt's team-mate Stuart Wall ruptured his knee ligament during the summer of 2012. He spent a near 18 months on the sidelines, after an operation, and hasn't featured for Lynn since, spending time on 'loan' at other clubs.
