Gary Setchell concedes he needs to add some much-needed depth to his King's Lynn Town squad.

The Linnets look short of options going into their early friendly fixtures following a host of exits before the end of last term as well as Stuart Wall, Ryan Clarke and Andy Hall leaving this summer.

With the departure of frontman Ewan Clarke to Sleaford Town being confirmed before Tuesday's match against Wisbech, Lynn's boss admits he's keen to bring in a couple of new faces as he continues to build for the forthcoming season.

Setchell said: 'I'll be looking to sign one or two because we are thin on the ground.

'But things develop. At the minute all of the players are looking for big money and the big clubs and there'll be 10s of players – a bit like Ewan Clarke has with us, he's gone to seek first-team football at Sleaford and I wish him all the best – and there'll be one or two who perhaps seek first-team football with Lynn who will be good enough to do the job.

'It's difficult because we haven't got huge money just to go out and get the best players. We have to work hard and get the right players in.'

Ewan Clarke's departure leaves Lynn with just Sam Mulready and Michael Frew – who missed the 2-1 defeat at Wisbech – as the only recognised strikers at the club. Reserve-team talent Jack Frohawk came off the bench in midweek and could push for more senior action.

However, Setchell is pleased with the business he has already completed and is confident the players he has at his disposal possess the quality needed to succeed in the Evo-Stik Premier Division. 'I'm really happy with the way Jackson (Ramm) and Bridgo (David Bridges) played against Wisbech', added Lynn's boss.

'And I'm also really happy with the way Frewy's training. We've made three good additions and with the lads we've already got there's no reason we can't do better than what we did last season.'
