Alfie Hewett has moved up to six in the wheelchair singles world rankings following his victory at Roland Garros.

The 19-year-old became the first Briton to win the singles title in Paris, beating Argentina's Gustavo Fernandez in three sets.

Hewett had to save three match points in the second set against Fernandez but held his nerve to take the set before wrapping up the deciding set 6-2.

The win has moved Hewett up to six in the world as the youngster Cantley starts preparing for Wimbledon next month.

The former Acle High School pupil admits to add the Wimbledon singles title to his collection would be the pinnacle of his career.

'To win both together would be an absolute dream but a lot of work has got to be done before that,' he said. 'I've got to get myself in the best physical condition that I can because it's going to be tough. But I'm up for the challenge.'
