It proved to be a frustrating couple of days for Norfolk's wheelchair tennis star Alfie Hewett at the French Open.
The 20-year-old world number one, from Cantley, near Acle, missed out on both the singles and doubles finals at Roland Garros.
Hewett was beaten 6-4 6-4 by fellow British player Gordon Reid in the singles quarter-finals on Thursday, missing out on the chance to defend the first grand slam singles title of his career.
The former City College Norwich student then teamed up with regular doubles partner Reid for the semi-finals on Friday but the top seeds and 2017 runners-up were beaten 6-4 6-4 by Frederic Cattaneo of France and Stefan Olsson of Sweden.
Next up for Hewett is the first ever wheelchair tournament at the Fever-Tree Championships at Queen's Club in London, starting on Friday, June 22, with Wimbledon to follow three weeks later – where Hewett and Reed will be defending doubles champions.
