A late switch of venue proved to be no problem for Great Yarmouth Town as they booked their place in the preliminary round of the FA Cup with an impressive 3-0 victory over Barkingside last night.

The Bloaters had to play the replay at Kirkley & Pakefield's Walmer Road ground because The Wellesley was being used for an athletics meeting.

But they shone in the unusual surroundings, with Mitch Forbes scoring a hat-trick (20, 73 76) to set up a genuine home match against Witham Town in the preliminary round on August 25.

Kirkley also progressed, hammering Sawbridgeworth 7-3 in Hertfordshire to set up a home meeting with Southend Manor. Goals came from Ross Catchpole (2), Scott Woodcock (2), Michael Tacon, Kyle Baker and Joe Bell.

Dereham maintained their perfect start to the season when they scored a late winner to beat Ely 3-2 in last night's Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division clash at Aldiss Park.

Andy Claydon gave the visitors a 20th minute lead but Dereham won a penalty in the 35th minute and Gary Starling confidently sent Lee Pacey the wrong way for the equaliser. The visitors nudged themselves in front again in the 50th minute when Richard Gammond drilled home but Dereham equalised again midway through the half when Sam Borror swept the ball home.

With two minutes remaining Shaun Bammant was upended again in the box by Darren Coe, who was red carded. Adam Gusterson coolly slotted home to put Dereham ahead and as they celebrated keeper Pacey was also dismissed for dissent.
